Are you using block widgets or classic?
Classic widgets. The message is like a pink pile at the far left, adjacent to the admin menu, the text is vertical:
F
a
i
l
etc
Thanks. I am not seeing anything like that on default WordPress. No errors or warnings anywhere. Most likely there is some interference with the theme or maybe another/related plugin. Best advice would be to do some basic troubleshooting. I am glad to provide a free guide if it might be useful for you.
Did some troubleshooting. Some kind of conflict with Black Studio TinyMCE widget. But both plugins work. The warning message is the only symptom… so I’ll ignore it for the time being. Thanks for your time (and your valuable plugin of course).

Hi, I have the same issue, when I open the settings of the WP-Statistic plugin. So, there seems to be a conflict between the 2 plugins.
Until now I did not recognized issues beside the strange error message.
If I have to guess: There is some false positive detection of which settings shall be loaded. Maybe it can be fixed easily with some filtering during the start of the settings loading.
Hi @teaage81, what is the specific error and how to replicate?
Unfortunately I cannot upload a screenhsot here….
Its the same error message as of the original post: Failed to initialized plugin: sdc_download.
But it occurs when opening the settings of another plugin: WP-Statistics.
The URL is ending with “admin.php?page=wps_settings_page”.
So, probably it can be fixed with some filtering?!
Okay thanks. Actually to investigate and try to resolve, I just need the steps to repeat the issue. It sounds like 1) install WP-Statistics, 2) install Simple Download Counter, and then 3) visit the WP-Statistics settings page. Does that sound correct to trigger the error?
Hi Jeff. I am experiencing the same issue. This time with Formidable Forms Pro (I don’t know if it will show also with the free version), on form setup screen.

I’m also using a query monitor plugin on site, but it gives no errors.
Hi @chrisplaneta, I am glad to investigate, but as mentioned I need the steps to repeat the issue on default WP. That way I can follow along and take a look.
As for the steps needed to reproduce the error, I simply clicked an option in the Formidable Forms to create a new form.
I can’t test it on a fresh website, but maybe this will help. It looks like the error is thrown by the tiny mce in JS. Take a look at this img >> https://www.dropbox.com/s/y9d4zkhjst3ho2c/downloads_plugin-js-console.png?dl=0

I’m not familiar at all with “Formidable Forms”. So will need some steps to follow along with, as explained in my previous reply. Need to be able to repeat the error starting from default WP install.
