Failed to import Media

    I have been developing my site locally using bitnami & now need to transfer all to my online hosting but I am hitting a wall( or will be …) in the step of importing the database to the live hosting, basically the posts & content import fine but all the media fails to import even though it has all been ftp’d to the relevant content directory etc
    I can’t find any solutions to this , here or elsewhere, besides giving full read & write permissions to the uploads which I’ve done to no avail…
    so any suggestions are much appreciated….

    not directly, I had to make do with just importing the posts & pages content & then manually re-do the gallery & finally re-adjust the layout …. personally I will think twice re. developing locally again especially for high content sites.

    you have to do a find and replace of all the links and references in the database when you switch from local to production.
