I updated to the latest version of this plugin. Now I’m getting the Unknown user error on failed login attempts. This wouldn’t be so bad on the internal site that I support, but the other sites that are publicly facing make me a bit worried. If I cannot see what account is getting hammered via bot then I cannot take the steps required to verify the account does not become compromised.

It would be great if this Unknown user issue could be resolved quickly.

    Hi Jake,

Thank you for showing interest and using our plugin.

Lately we had to change the whole process of monitoring of “failed” logins to be able to support larger websites with much higher traffic. Such change has led us to not be able to report the abused username, though this is only temporary.

We are currently working on an improvement to be able to also report the account which is being attacked and such fix should be available in upcoming versions of the plugin.

Hence please stay tuned with us or subscribe to our plugins newsletter so you are alerted when there are updates.

While I trust the above gives you a better overview of the situation, do not hesitate to get in touch should you have any further queries.
