Facebook/Twitter Posts Garbled Text on Timeline

    I have a wordpress blog and I have several social share buttons on each of my blog post. When the user shares the blog on twitter or facebook, both sites collect the appropriate data: the photo, site name, etc. However the actual text that is collected ends up being unformatted, thus what should look like this on their timeline:

    Awesome list
1. food
2. tv
3. sleep
looks like this

    Awesome List 1.food 2.tv 3.sleep
    Is there any way I can better format this onto facebook and twitter?
