• I installed the plugin, configured the “social” section (associated my FB account and added a description and default image). Then I went post by post adding in “Social” a description and image to be displayed. However, when I try to post a link to any of my posts in Facebook, only the description shows up. No thumbnail at all.
I changed the theme to see if mine was interfering somehow, but it didn’t help either…
This is my blog (it’s in Spanish, but just take any link to a post from the front page to see what I mean) ladoderecho.co.nf

  • The og:image tags are being added by WPSEO and look correct, so something else must be blocking them. You wouldn’t happen to have image hotlink protection in your .htaccess file would you ?

    Thanks, jrf.
I tried by adding images stored somewhere else for blogpost thumbnails, but still they won’t show up.
Also, when trying to paste a link to the root site (not to a specific blogpost), I get “Hello world!Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging!PatriciaMarch 19, 2014UncategorizedPermalink”
despite I configured a site description.
Is there anything else I could try?
    Thanks.

Ok, I changed my whole hosting (now I’m using byethost.com). I also bought a .com domain and linked them both (my site is now at elladoderecho.com).

Now I have some pages correctly pulling the metadata from Facebook and some others just being left with their plain url.

The behavior seems to be totally random. “og” tags seem to be correctly included in pages, and I also tried by using images hosted somewhere else for the pages that show a plain url, but that didn’t help.

The only workaround I found was to create a new post with a different permalink, but this doesn’t always help.

Why could it be that some posts work and some don’t?
