• I am also having thumbnail related issues when working with one of my sites.

When I put a link to a post into Facebook, it shows the Gravatar logo.

So if I link to this post: http://www.casualvoyeur.com/hot-girls-kissing-videos — FB shows the Gravatar logo.

When I put the home URL into Facebook, it shows video thumbnails from a specific post…

So put in the home link in FB – http://www.casualvoyeur.com and for some reason, Facebook pulls thumbnails from this post: http://www.casualvoyeur.com/hot-massage-youtube

This is weird to say the least.

Another Note: When I used the wordbooker plugin, it was able to pull thumbnails from the videos in the post automatically. I cannot continue to use that plugin, however, because it includes post excerpts which I do not wish to include in a facebook post.

  • I’m not sure why you’re asking that here as its a FB issue not a WordPress issue,

I asked because I had no idea what kind of issue it is. If I knew it was a FB issue, I wouldn’t ask for help. I don’t think it’s solely a FB issue though.

Wordbooker actually made FB pull the right thumbnails, I just can’t use that plugin since it also pulls shortcode from a post — which is a problem since the audience has no need to read [tubepress code] in a post.

So, based on the fact that thumbnails were pulled properly when using wordbooker but not pulled properly when linking through wordpress alone, I suspected that meant it was a WordPress issue. And that’s why I am here on a wordpress forum asking wordpress questions.

If it is a FB issue alone, then the only choice is to wait on them to fix it…

Well if you’d raised the issue with the tubepress shortcodes then I could have looked into it as as Wordbooker copes with “balanced” shortcodes but not with “un-balanced” ones.
