Hi Louisiane,
Looking into the issue now and will update you on what I find. Stay tuned!
Thanks,
Mary Anne
Thanks for posting this, Louisiane. Same problem here.
I have just updated to the latest version of wordpress and this has also happened to me, so I am watching this thread and looking forward to having the issue resolved asap.
This is also happening on my client sites that I manage. I have not upgraded to this weeks new WordPress Core update yet. The Facebook shares have all disappeared (and they have thousands on each post.) However, the Pinterest shares are still showing. Here is an example http://genevievegerard.com Checkout any recent post (reached via a link on the home page.) They usually have 500-1,000 Facebook shares per week, per post.
The only change we did on the site listed above was update All In One SEO Pack plugin to 2.3.9.1 this week (however, we did deactivate this plugin and the Facebook shares are still missing.)
Does this have anything to do with the recent changes to the Facebook API?
This is a huge problem for clients who have spent years building up their online presence and social proof.
Please address this quickly.
Thanks for chiming in guys. Any updates Mary Anne?
Hi All, Yes, this is related to the recent changes to the Facebook API. We’re actively working on releasing a code update to resolve this. The fix will work automatically without you having to upgrade the actual plugin. — Jay
Thank you Jay! Look forward to the release of this. π Please do let us know when the fix is applied.
Thank you SO much!!! All seems to be well! We all appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. π
Thanks to Sharaholic for their quick response to this problem!
You’re welcome guys. If you think we did a good job here, would appreciate an honest review, it goes a long way for us! — https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/shareaholic
I have just had this same problem happen on my site today. All my plugins and installs are up to date.
Any ideas?
Hi Mary Anne,
I know you wrote the fix is live for this issue — but we’re having the problem on a blog post on Patheos http://www.patheos.com/blogs/doxologyproject/2016/09/21/3-ways-the-lords-prayer-changed-my-life/ – this post had over 2000 shares on FB, and now shows only 1, and doesn’t seem to be changing at all.
Any ideas on what we can do to fix it?
Thanks,
Hillary
Hi @hspragg it looks like that page has over 4K shares on Facebook now (awesome job!!). Are you still seeing any intermittent problems?
