• Hi,

I don’t see the count on Facebook shares, likes or reactions.

When I do the throuble shooter I get 2 warnings. I don’t think these are the problem though, because on older blog posts, for example @ https://oriettakoster.nl/zoenen-met-een-hypo/ I get the exact same warnings, and that one does show a Facebook count.

    The warnings I get are:
The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

    and

The following required properties are missing: og:type, og:image, fb:app_id

I did enter the app id though. I guess that’s why I do get counts on older blog posts.

Any help in getting the counts to show would be appreciated, thank you!

    Hi there,

It’s because there is not any share made on the Facebook for the webpage according to the Facebook Graph API. See the screenshot https://imgur.com/BnAZUXe

    Hi,
thank you for replying, but there is at least one Facebook share (I shared it) with likes and comments. That should be visible, right?

You can see it here: https://www.facebook.com/104665041272193/posts/127563275649036/

And this post has been shared three times, which should also be visible on the count, am I right?

    Thank you!

The share icons at the web page are sharing the url https://bit.ly/2YCRTyS which redirects to the preview url before publishing the webpage. Try clearing the bitly cache from “Miscellaneous” section at the plugin options page, refresh the problematic web page and share the webpage on Facebook.

Awesome, thank you! New Facebook shares are counted now, the old ones aren’t but oh well. How do I make sure this doesn’t happen again on my next post? Do I need to clear the bit.ly cache every time I post?

It happens, probably, when you see the preview of the web page before publishing it. We will take care of it in upcoming releases.
