• Cheers everyone, I’ve a small issue recently; I’m posting some Youtube and Vimeo videos on my website and recently when I share these posts on Facebook, it looks like a video thumbnail – the ones when you share a video from youtube – but I don’t want that. I have featured images for each video and I’m putting those on my posts. And when I share my posts on Facebook, I want to show the featured images, the title and the description, just like I’m sharing a regular post without a video. I’m guessing this is related with the Open Graph Protocol but I have no idea how to solve this.

I’d be grateful if you help me.

  • What are you using for sharing? See this post:

Even if you are not using JetPack, it explains how FB works.

You might want to try using a plugin that will let you control those OG tags.

First of all, truly sorry for the bumping, I won’t do it again.

I’m using Facebook’s own plugin for sharing, and strangely I can’t disable the plugin’s OG section.

I think my solution is, I need to disable og:video tag, since it’s identical with og:image tag.
Do you have any idea how can I disable this?

Edit: Actually looks like that’s not the issue. When I checked for one my posts with the debugger; http://www.budaboyle.com/?p=469 , everything looks fine and the “When shared, this is what will be included” part looks perfect. But I try to share this post on my FB, I’m getting the same issue

Edit 2: I’ve found a very weird temporary solution; if I check post with debugger first, and then share it on FB, everything is okay. But otherwise I’m getting the same issue which is really weird.
