[resolved] Facebook likes on site not reflected on Facebook page (3 posts)

I am using the jetpack plugin to add social media options to our site's articles. Also, I am using the plugin to publicize my articles to our site's facebook page.

When a facebook user likes our published article, that like shows up on the counter found on the website page.

However, when a viewer clicks the facebook like button on our website page, that like is not reflected on our facebook article.

What we end up with is an article showing 30 likes on our site, yet only 2 or 3 on facebook.

Is there anyway to resolve this issue?

    Our site is http://www.thewestwire.com/

That's indeed the expected behaviour. The 2 Like buttons and counters are different:

    1. The button appearing on your site counts the number of times this link was shared, Liked, and commented on, wherever it was shared. If you share that link on your Facebook Page, it counts as one share. If one of your friends likes that Facebook post, it increments the counter. If someone Likes the post on your site, it also increments the counter. That's how Like buttons work, and you can find out more about them here:
    2. When you share a link on your Facebook Page, Facebook display the number of Likes and Comments on that Facebook post, on Facebook. That counter is not related to your website, or even the number of Likes on the link you shared.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.
