[Resolved] Facebook Like buttom

  • In the “Straight up” theme is not working properly Facebook Like buttom. When I click the Like button, the popup window (or “flyout”) clipped. Reed the instruction on Facebook I could not fix the problem: “This can be remedied by setting the overflow property to a value other than hidden, such as visible, scroll, or auto.” Pleas help me.

    Where are you getting the Like button from? Is it in Jetpack, another plugin, or an embed code from Facebook or somewhere else?

    If it’s a chunk of code, please post it to pastebin and also let me know where you’re including it in the theme.

    Code from Facebook. This code:

    <div id="fb-root"></div>
    <script>
      window.fbAsyncInit = function() {
        // init the FB JS SDK
        FB.init({
          appId : '4505724383xxxx', // App ID from the App Dashboard
          channelUrl : '//WWW.mysite.ru/channel.html', // Channel File for x-domain communication
          status : true, // check the login status upon init?
          cookie : true, // set sessions cookies to allow your server to access the session?
          xfbml : true // parse XFBML tags on this page?
        });

        // Additional initialization code such as adding Event Listeners goes here

      };

      // Load the SDK's source Asynchronously
      // Note that the debug version is being actively developed and might
      // contain some type checks that are overly strict.
      // Please report such bugs using the bugs tool.
      (function(d, debug){
         var js, id = 'facebook-jssdk', ref = d.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];
         if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;}
         js = d.createElement('script'); js.id = id; js.async = true;
         js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all" + (debug ? "/debug" : "") + ".js";
         ref.parentNode.insertBefore(js, ref);
       }(document, /*debug*/ false));
    </script>

    <div id="fb-root"></div>
    <script>(function(d, s, id) {
      var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
      if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
      js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
      js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/ru_RU/all.js#xfbml=1&appId=450572438334660";
      fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
    }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script><code>I including in (header.php) after</code><body <?php body_class( 'hfeed' ); ?>>

    And I including code: <div class="fb-like" data-send="false" data-layout="button_count" data-width="450" data-show-faces="false"></div> in (content-single.php) after </div><!-- .entry-content --> alongside other social buttons codes.

    I have no idea what’s going on in all that; do you have a demo site I can see it on?

    There is a social networks buttons at the bottom after the post . This is already a working site.

    I see what you mean, but can’t tell what’s causing it to be cut off. You’re right, overflow:hidden would do it, but the only overflow:hidden declaration I have in Straight Up is for paging navigation (which doesn’t affect your issue).

    Does it behave the same with a default theme, such as Twenty Twelve?

    I tried to set the button in the Twenty Twelve theme and, unfortunately, there is also not working properly. Strange that it can be?

    That sucks. My only suggestion is to start with their instructions again from scratch on a different site; maybe you’ve missed a detail. You can also post on their developer support forum: https://developers.facebook.com/support/

    Good luck!
