# Facebook issue: open external browser

 * When I post a link to my website on Facebook and people try to use the AR feature,
   things go wrong. Facebook uses its own in-app browser, and mobile users are prompted
   to scan a QR code—which is impossible to do using the very same device they are
   currently using. The workaround is to tap the three dots within Facebook and
   select “Open in external browser.”
   Of course, that doesn’t exactly make using
   this feature user-friendly. Are there any plans to address this issue?
 *  Kind regards,
 * Karel

 * Hi Karel,
 * Thanks for reporting this, and good timing – this has just been fixed. The plugin
   now correctly detects the Facebook in-app browser on mobile, so users are no
   longer shown the QR code prompt and can go straight into the AR experience without
   having to open the page in an external browser first.
 * Try opening one of your product links from a Facebook post on your phone again.
   Could you let me know whether it works as expected on your end now? If it does,
   I’ll mark this topic as resolved.
 * Kind regards,
   Stef

 * Hi Stef, great, thanks a lot. Good work!
 * Here’s a thought: if you first tap “View on your own wall” and land on a screen
   where the “View in 3D” button visually dominates the “Open in browser” button
   at the bottom, I’m afraid people will use the dominant button and miss out on
   the wall projection feature. My suggestion would be to make the “Open in browser”
   button the dominant one or place it at the top. The temptation to misread the
   screen and pick the wrong button is too great. Conversely, if you access the
   feature directly via a browser rather than through Facebook, the “View in your
   space” button is the dominant one—which makes sense. Ideally, the screens would
   look exactly the same whether you access the feature via Facebook or a browser.
   In the Facebook scenario, that would mean skipping the extra “Open in browser”
   step and simply launching the browser automatically. I don’t know enough about
   the technical side to say if that’s feasible—it’s just an idea—but the improvements
   already made are excellent.
