    Dear good developers,

I observed that swithing on “Treat variable products like simple products” (from “Facebook ID setting” section ) has no effect IF “Use Facebook for WooCommerce extension content_id logic” (from “Facebook for WooCommerce Integration” section) is picked.

    Is it normal behaviour?
Because it prevents my variants to be detected as they are showing as product_groups and not just product

    Thank you very much

    Hi laurent512,

When using Facebook for WooCommerce ID logic is not possible to use “treat variable like simple products”.

And sending “product_group” for variable products is correct. In fact, we only send “product_group” for the main item, once a variation is selected, we send “product” and the variation’s ID. We replicate Facebook for WooCommerce logic completely.

I understand, thank you very much.

Would you have any idea why my website is not generating those when I click on product variation ?

    For example here : https://petitebouledepoils.fr/boutique/transport/bouteille-deau-portable/

    Best regards,

    Laurent

    Please do the following:

    1. Open our WooCommerce tab.
    2. Select PixelYourSite ID logic instead of Facebook for WooCommerce, and save.
    3. Turn OFF the option to treat variable products like simple products and save.
    4. Select Facebook for WooCommerce ID logic again and save.

    Hello @pixelyoursite

    Follow up on this.

I think this is the same error my client’s website has. This website is using Facebook for Woocommerce Catalog.

    In the plugin you suggest:
(* If you plan to use the product catalog created by Facebook for WooCommerce Extension, use the Facebook for WooCommerce Extension ID. If you plan to use older product catalogs, or new ones created with other plugins, it’s better to keep the default PixelYourSite settings.)

Trying to figure out how to fix this error, in this thread, you suggest to @laurent512 to (Select PixelYourSite ID logic instead of Facebook for WooCommerce)

How can affect this to the pixel and the product variations?

    Thanks so much

    Hi Carlos,

Please describe your problem with more details. I have few questions:

    1. How do you upload your products to your Product Catalog?

    2. What error do you have exactly?

    3. Did you make any changes in the plugin’s settings?

    Hi @pixelyoursite

    Thanks for your reply.

I’ll describe the problem below so you can understand and other users could find a way to fix it.

The website is using Pixelyoursite together with Facebook for Woocommerce Catalog.
Facebook for Woocommerce Catalog is used to sync products and Shop tab on Facebook and Instagram.

When both plugins are been used in the same WooCommerce, and you select (Use Facebook for WooCommerce extension content_id logic) I assume that the plugins understand that all variations will be treated as a different product since facebook read the IDs or SKUs for every variation.

Now, the problem is that when we select (Use Facebook for WooCommerce extension content_id logic) and we process any event like add to cart in a variable product, the event doesn’t show the variation ID of the product variation, so the information is wrong, Facebook Pixel read the event without the variation ID and Facebook understand that an event occurred but does not associate it with the correct product variation.

I hope this helps you understand what is the problem and we can find a solution.

    Thanks so much

    best regards

    1. Open our WooCommerce tab, disable the option to use Facebook for WooCommerce ID logic, and Save.

    2. Turn OFF the option to treat variable products like simple products, and save.

    3. Enable back the option to use Facebook for WooCommerce IDs, and save.

    This should fix the problem.

    That worked.

Thank you so much for your help.

    You’re welcome!

Maybe you’ll consider changing that 3 star rating into 5 star 🙂
