 * Hello. I have problem with my featured image from my site always different from
   facebook fetch. It turns out Facebook pulling image from first whatever appear
   on top of paragraph. I think there are another thread with similar complain.
   But anywasy, here is one example from my site ([https://amhmagz.com/](https://amhmagz.com/)).
 * Site image – correct
    [http://imgbox.com/WzUesWra](http://imgbox.com/WzUesWra)
 * Facebook page fetch – wrong
    [http://imgbox.com/yA5JxLvO](http://imgbox.com/yA5JxLvO)
 * This didn’t happen in previous version of Yoast plugin. I forgot which one but
   anything that worked in WordPress 4.8. Yes I just migrate from 4 to 5.4 (roughly
   2 weeks) so I could try Guttenberg. But it turn out this block editor still has
   a lot of problem (something about JSON update failed bla-bla-bla) forcing me
   back to classic editor. Before I update, Yoast tab in WP 5.4 didn’t appear properly.
   After update to latest version it work but now I got this Feature Image problem.
 * Oh yes I was thinking lets just set image in Facebook tab.
 * facebook tab
    [http://imgbox.com/D91Jj1qX](http://imgbox.com/D91Jj1qX)
 * Does it work? The answer is yes and no. What I mean here if I publish my article
   first time, Facebook still fetch first image not in featured image. But if I
   update the same post then force Facebook scrape using share debugging tools,
   now it show correct image that I intended to show at Facebook. I don’t want to
   update post if possible because previous version it just work when I hit publish
   button.
 * Here one post that I update then finally show correct image at Facebook.

 * I was thinking try another open graph plugin but not sure if this will conflicting
   with yours.
 * Short version: old version Yoast plugin open graph work properly. Latest version(
   June 2020) get wonky with Featured image.
 * Note: post published before 16 June 2020 is using old version. I noticed the
   problem after 21 June when the image not showing what I intended.
 * Thank you for you attention.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Ffacebook-always-pull-the-wrong-image%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hello [@omega8719](https://wordpress.org/support/users/omega8719/)!
 * Checked your site [https://amhmagz.com/](https://amhmagz.com/) but I don’t see
   anything similar to the first two screenshots you provided. The opengraph image
   set for your homepage is this one: [https://ik.imagekit.io/amhmagzcdn/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/843120_136466936521258_373345161_o.jpg](https://ik.imagekit.io/amhmagzcdn/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/843120_136466936521258_373345161_o.jpg)
 * Did you just change it? Or is it for a different post/page? Can you please provide
   us the URL so we can investigate further?

 * The example post that have problem is this:
 * [https://amhmagz.com/2020/06/visual-perdana-rail-romanesque/](https://amhmagz.com/2020/06/visual-perdana-rail-romanesque/)
 * The thumbnail not shown inside post because that is my choice. Image for my news
   mostly portrait thus showing cropped featured image inside post is a bit redundant.
   So you must see featured image thumbnail at archive page:
 * [https://amhmagz.com/category/berita/](https://amhmagz.com/category/berita/)
   or [https://amhmagz.com/2020/06/24/](https://amhmagz.com/2020/06/24/)
 * Please notice different crop posted in Facebook Pages.
 * Facebook pull first image then crop whatever they think fit.
 * For this post I didn’t fix it because not severe. But some other post the step
   I take is Publish -> check FB -> wrong image -> click update in my site -> scrape
   again -> correct image.

 * I add another proof. I just write new article at 17.10 local time (UTC+7).

 * Here is the result og:image.
    [http://imgbox.com/odY9NsWr](http://imgbox.com/odY9NsWr)
 * I’m using [https://smallseotools.com/open-graph/](https://smallseotools.com/open-graph/)
   to check it. Facebook pull first image inside post instead from featured post.
   galleryamh is external url.
 * The result at my FB post something like this.
 * When featured image shoud be shoulder above. You can check at archive page.
 * ====
 * Strange thing is my previous problematic post now showing correct og:image, pulled
   from my amhmagz.com/imagekit domain. I really want to rollback to previous version
   but I know the tab aren’t working.

 * I must add some strange happening. The og:image is somehow updated to correct
   featured image link (imagekit CDN domain). This happen roughly after 6 hours
   posted. This happen without my intervention, no update, no scrapping debug tool,
   nothing. I’m not touching my problematic post. Only check the og:image via method
   I mentioned above.
 * This didn’t change fact at first published, FB pull the wrong link. Never happened
   in old version of Yoast.

 * Hello,
 * We checked on your post [https://amhmagz.com/2020/06/movie-violet-evergarden-tayang-18-september/](https://amhmagz.com/2020/06/movie-violet-evergarden-tayang-18-september/)
   and the og:image set is [https://ik.imagekit.io/amhmagzcdn/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/img-3212-e1593079954219.jpg](https://ik.imagekit.io/amhmagzcdn/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/img-3212-e1593079954219.jpg)
   as this is what appears in the open graph tags. Then when running the URL through
   Facebook’s Sharing Debugger Tool, we get the expected og:image. You can check
   it here — [https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/?q=https%3A%2F%2Famhmagz.com%2F2020%2F06%2Fmovie-violet-evergarden-tayang-18-september%2F](https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/?q=https%3A%2F%2Famhmagz.com%2F2020%2F06%2Fmovie-violet-evergarden-tayang-18-september%2F)
 * Could you please clarify on this issue? It doesn’t seem like the Facebook crawler
   is getting the featured image that you’ve mentioned. When we try to preview the
   image on Facebook, it also shows the image’s face (instead of the shoulders as
   per your preview above).
