    1) The plugin has two ways to hide it,
and very simple too. Here is a description how to remove it: https://take.ms/HIoqq

    2) I don’t understand why you would rate a free plugin, that is clearly adding value to the shop with just one star, only because we are asking for a rating in return for providing that plugin. But, I probably never will understand you.

It may be that the close button does not work, it may not be due to your plugin but the user will not be aware of that. They will only see the issue as if it was your plugin. Using the “rate it” text to close the review looks like it has caused a negative experience.

    Hi @anevins

    Thanks for your comment!

To be honest, I don’t like to ask for ratings the way we do. But, I haven’t found a better way to collect reviews for this plugin.

The problem of this kind of low maintenance plugin is, that once it is installed and configured the users don’t touch it anymore. That’s why we have had thousands of happy users but almost no ratings, before we started to ask for ratings. And we all know that reviews are an important source for potential new users to find out about the quality of a plugin.

In comparison with other plugins that do require frequent interaction we are at a real disadvantage. We get something between 50 to 100 times less reviews than such plugins. Only since we started to ask kindly for reviews we collected significantly more.

If you know a better way, for a plugin like ours, to ask for reviews in a way that doesn’t lead to a one star reaction, I’m totally open to it.

And regarding that recent one star review caused by us asking for reviews: I personally think giving only one star just because we ask for reviews is disproportionate. I would understand if the person would have given 4 stars, maybe 3. You see, our plugin is a very powerful tool (in the hands of the right person) and can help create very profitable advertising campaigns with Google Ads. So, if a shop owner uses our plugin for free, potentially makes a ton of money using it and gives a one star review because we ask for a review, it doesn’t make me think about what is broken in the plugin. It rather lets me think about what is broken in society today.

Again, if you think you know a better way on how our plugin could collect reviews in a more user friendly way, let me know.

And, if you think you can do something about that particular one star review, it would be interesting to know what it is. But, you can leave the review as it is. I am fine with it on our review wall. I categorize it under “you can’t make it fit for everyone”. And everyone who is reading our reviews shall know about it.

    Aleks
