• I installed the plugin, first an API key is required, so it was pretty clear where the journey was going. then the recommendation of “smart optimization” was accepted, after a long wait 5 images were optimized (actually rather killed) and then came the notice that I should select a plan/subscription because my “volume” was used up. So I had compressed a few pictures (20 of about 220) beyond recognition and brought them into the beyond from the plugin unrecoverably. Such panders should be banished from WordPress.org.

I can only really advise against this plugin!!

    Hi @ortnerrol

I am really sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Imagify.

Please note that if there is an issue with the image quality after optimization you can choose the Lossless compression level through Settings > Imagify so you can optimize your images without losing quality at all.

Also, the “Backup original images” option is enabled by default through the Imagify Settings and the original version of the image can be restored at any time.

Regarding the quota consumption, let me clarify that the quota consumption depends on the size of your images and their thumbnails. You can find additional information at the following link https://imagify.io/documentation/how-is-quota-calculated/

I’ll be happy to help you further if you need any assistance.

    Best Regards,

    Ioanna
