• So about a year ago I installed this plugin. Back then, it looked like this:

I installed it for the amazing feature it had that let you organize the list of plugins on the plugin page. That was the reason I got it. It made dealing with a lot of plugins much easier. So today I went searching for that plugin I used to use. This one was the first result and the screenshots looked completely different. There was nothing showing the list of plugins being organized. So I spent the next half hour searching only to find nothing.

Then I opened a site I hadn’t used in a while and saw something strange. A “must-use” plugin that I only remember being on the Plugin Organizer. Problem was, I couldn’t organize my plugin list on the plugin page.

I came to the depressing realization that I found my old plugin on the first try, but the best feature (the only one I installed it for) was gone. It seems like a common sense feature to have but no plugin I can find offers it. I’m extremely disappointed that this plugin did away with it.

I’ve also posted this in the support section hoping someone will explain to me why that feature is gone and if there’s any alternative that I just somehow couldn’t find.

The plugin groups still exist and you can order the plugins on a page under “Plugin Organizer” in the admin menu called “Group And Order Plugins”. I moved the functionality to group and order plugins off of the plugins page because it was causing problems for some people and was limiting in what I could do. The WordPress core doesn’t have hooks to change the things I needed changed so I was using jQuery to add the bulk menu items and to handle the grouping and ordering.

I could change the order that the plugins appear with a hook. I could add it as sort of a view. Or it could be an option to display your plugins in the order they are loaded in on the plugins page.

Bumped my review up to 3 stars for the quick response and because I didn’t know it was a technical issue with WordPress.

It’s a free plugin, do I don’t expect you to fix one feature for just one person. But all i really want is that ability to change the order that they’re listed on the plugins page. It doesn’t need to affect the order they load in. I honestly don’t even know how to take advantage of that capability. I just want to be able to sort the huge list of plugins I have.

    Try This
Its not as good but will sort into groups as well then you can decide which is better for you.

Personally I also wish they hadn’t got rid of it.

    Thank you! That’s even better.
