I used the pro version of this plugin for a couple of years, and every time there was an “update,” stuff happened. And they update quite often for no good reason.

At the least, the popup just didn’t work. At the worst, it caused the site to crash. The developer is defensive and always tries to blame something else. Even when they noticed that the issue was on the coding, such as “confirmed that the Time On Site setting is the culprit, turned it off, and everything worked”, there were no apologies. They acted as though the paying customers were their beta testers undeserving their “mercy”.

The last straw was the fact that the latest update crashed my site completely, and I just couldn’t afford the time for their “favor”.

Stay away! If not, make sure it actually works, because you might not know.

    Hello @ngodong,

Thank you for sharing your experience with FireBox. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that the plugin didn’t meet your expectations.

We take every support request seriously and always strive to go the extra mile for our users. Up until your latest ticket on October 1st, all issues were resolved to your satisfaction. However, your recent concerns about how a PHP class in our plugin was coded and the handling of normal AJAX requests—along with the claim that FireBox wasn’t secure—were not valid issues with the plugin itself.

We understand your frustration, but we don’t feel this review accurately reflects the efforts we made to support you. That said, we respect your decision and sincerely wish you the best moving forward. Should you reconsider in the future, we’d love the opportunity to deliver a better experience.

    Regards,
    Stergos

    You’re full of it!

    1. Your support was horrendous. You always blamed something else. When you found out that it was your code, you simply said, “It was confirmed….” as though you had nothing to do with it.
    2. The moment I canceled my subscription, you disabled my license despite the fact that my paid time wouldn’t expire in July 2025. That’s just wrong, if not fraudulent. As you might have noted, I didn’t even care about asking for a refund: https://dongknows.com/wp-content/uploads/firebox.png
    3. Your software is *really* terrible. I understand it might be your passion project, and while it might work on a website with a limited viewership, on a site that has a few hundred views or more a day, the loops can cause unnecessary server overloads and could crash a site.

Stop making those dumb updates. Less is more! Or just go find a new hobby!

Your license shouldn’t have been disabled, you are free to whitelist your domain again for the remaining time of your subscription.

Best of luck with your project.

No, it shouldn’t. As much as your software should have worked. It’s just that it seems you’ve never been aware of how buggy (BAD) the whole thing is, including your billing and license management. Wake up! Seriously, stop blaming something else! It’s YOU! All I did was cancel the auto payment.
