Extracting in a seperate folder

    hi,
    i have uploaded wordpress new version.
    using cpanel

    when i trying to extract the wordpress.. it is extracting in a separate folder named wordpress.

    its not extracting in root directory even the zip file is in oot directory

    Thats how wordpress is ziped to create a folder wordpress if you want to use wordpress in root than two ways you can use wordpress.
    Move all the contents that are in wordpress to your root and than install using install script.
    or install in wordpress folder and then copy index.php in root
