    Hi there,

My site is showing this extra white space warning. The back up could be completed successfully but I am worried that the backup file is not usable when needed.

I followed the instruction and found out that white space is due to my child theme. I am trying to find out what is causing this but I have no clue what to look for. Could you please advise what should I look for in my child theme in order to fix this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

Extra characters is usually from some custom piece of code. Have you made any manual additions to the site, such as add a script or ‘mu-plugin’?

    Hi Bryle,

Yes, some customization was made to the child theme, on certain section in woocommerce like my account, order history, cart etc. No mu plugin was installed though.

Can you share some examples of ‘extra characters’?
Where do I look for it? In php, js files?

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

If you switch to a different theme? Do you still get the same issue?

If not, then I would suggest checking on the changes you have done on your child theme. Basically checking for trailing blank lines, i.e a number of newline or carriage return characters.

Deleting these blank lines at the end of the file would eliminate the warning.

    Regards,
    Bryle
