extra picture only for google merchant center
-
Hi,
would it be possible to define an extra picture only for google merchant center?
We don’t want to send all our product pictures to google merchant center because there are watermarked in our shop and we do not want to generate all new (new rule from google no overlay is allowed and no brands on product picture) So our goal would be to send only 1 picture with each product and edit this picuter in an extra field in woocommerce.
Is there any way to define which picuter (element) should be send to google merchant for product picutre?

Hi @urka ,
Thank you for reaching out!
To assist you accurately, could you please share how you plan to set or store these clean, Google-compliant images for your products? For example:
- Will you be uploading them using a custom field (like ACF or another plugin)?
- Will you be storing them as part of the WooCommerce product gallery but want to use only one specific image?
- Or do you have another method in mind?
Once I understand how you’re assigning these images to each product, I’ll be able to guide you on how to set it up using our Product Feed Manager plugin accordingly.
Looking forward to your clarification!
Best regards,
Hi,
thank you for your quick answer.
I think best practice would be to upload this picture in a custom field only for google merchant center. Our theme TheGem provides a custom field but we did not use it up to now. But they offer field type, Text, Number or Link so I think this should work.Hi @urka,
Thank you for the update!
While we haven’t specifically tested compatibility with TheGem theme’s custom fields, and our plugin isn’t officially built to support theme-level custom fields, but there’s still a good chance it may work in your case.
If the theme’s custom field is saving the image URL properly, then it might appear in the Assign Value dropdown when editing the Main Image field in the feed—under the Product Custom Attributes section, using the exact field name it’s saved as.
Here’s a screenshot to help illustrate what I mean:
🔗 View ScreenshotYou can test this by assigning the field to a few products and checking if it becomes available in the feed editing interface.
Let me know how it goes or if you’d like help identifying the correct meta key to use!
Best regards,
Where should I get the settings I see on your screenshot?
If I open “Google for WooCommerce” and there Attributes it look like this

We have installed last version 3.1.1Hi @urka
The screenshot you provided is actually not from our plugin UI, so I’m a bit confused by your reference.
To access the settings I showed you in my previous screenshot, please follow these steps using Product Feed Manager for WooCommerce:
- Go to the Product Feed Manager dashboard
- Create a new feed or open an existing one
- Scroll to the Image attribute in the feed configuration
- From the Assign Value dropdown, search for the meta key used by your theme to store the product image. Select the correct meta key and save the feed
- Here is another screenshot to help you navigate: Screenshot

Best regards,
Thank you so much for your support. It was my fail I was on wrong plugin settings.
I have now installed your plugin (free version for test – if it work I will buy)
Yust one question please
with free version I can generate a product feed for test. what criteria (order) are used to select the products to be included in the feed?
I have the TheGem field as an option but need to fill in some products for test if it really work. But how will I know which products will be in my feed if I can’t set a rule or make a feed for only 1 category?Hi @urka ,
We are happy to help our users and here as long as you need help.
With the free version of Product Feed Manager, you get access to basic filtering options shown here:
👉 Product Filter Window
You can also use the Custom Filter to apply more rules. However, the free version limits each feed to up to 200 products, and there’s no control over which 200 products are included—they are selected automatically from all eligible products.
So, while you can apply filters, you cannot restrict the feed to specific categories or control exactly which products appear. This level of control isn’t available in the free version.
If you want to test with fewer products, then free version will be perfect.
Feel free to ask if you need help with your feed setup!
Best regards,
Thank you so much.
We started the feed now and edit the xml so only 3 products were uploaded for test where we have added our custom field to WooCommerce product page. The product picture works well!
We only have a problem with sales prices. In the feed there is the sales price for example<g:sale_price>108.75</g:sale_price>
In this form Google Merchant center does not import it. It need to be 108.75 EUR
We tried it with default and price output filter but both settings with same result.
We can edit it in xml file but our goal is finaly have API connection to the Merchant Center.
What do we wrong?Oh that’s wonderful news @urka.
For the issue of the missing currency in the sale price, you can resolve this by using the suffix field to append the currency code to the sale price. Here’s a screenshot to guide you through the process: https://prnt.sc/ehhJiDbUmdEj.
Now, as our product is working well and hope you liking our service too. So I guess you don’t mind me asking to rate us — it would mean a lot if you could take a few minutes to leave us a 5-star rating for us.
