  • It looks like “Contact” is actually pulling a category and not a “page.” If you get rid of the contact category, that should get rid of it.

    Thank you for your help. I’m sure I’m just being dim, but I realized the category connection already, I just can’t delete it. Under categories it has the contact page, but no box where I can delete it. I’m new to wordpress and am sure I’m missing something quite obvious. Thanks again.

    You can delete that category. Go to Manage – Categories, check the box beside the Contact category, then click delete. That should fix it.

    I know this is weird, but there’s no box next to the contact page. It just says contact. Thus, I have been unable to delete it. Thank you.

    Not the Contact page – delete the Contact category. Go to the Manage tab, then underneath, click Categories.

    The thing seems to be completely built into your theme. Can’t you delete the link from your header.php? I don’t really think that deleting the category will delete the link. I think the link is hardcoded in your theme, most likely the header.php.

    How can I do that? I’m a newbie at WordPress, and I don’t want to screw anything up. This is what is inside my header.php

    * Loads the WordPress environment and template.
    * @package WordPress

    if ( !isset($wp_did_header) ) {

    $wp_did_header = true;

    require_once( dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/wp-load.php’ );

    require_once( ABSPATH . WPINC . ‘/template-loader.php’ );

    Thank you.

    I still have no idea what I am doing. Thank you to anyone who might be able to help.

    You’ve got a complex theme. What’s in wp-load.php and template-loader.php? You’re right that the link you want to get rid off is not just in the header.php like I expected.

    Have you tried deleting that category just in case that will do it? Most themes with “tabs” across the top call all the categories with a single php command. You can use the plug-in “exclude categories” or just try deleting that category.

    If that doesn’t work, you may have to ask the theme developer for help or get professional help some other way. It’s pretty rare for a premium theme to hardcode in those kinds of tabs.
