• Hey, I’m using the default theme and I want to add an extra sidebar on the left side. Is there a way that I can do that?

I also dont want to size anything down. The only thing that should change size is the header, which should get wider.

    Thanks!

  • There already is a default 3-column theme available. Check the themes site.

I did check there even with a search, I coudlnt find it.

One thing you need to learn is how to search effectively. If you search in Google, that is the best. Type in “site:wordpress.org/support 3-column kubrick” (or whatever you are looking for). You’ll get a lot of results. This one http://wordpress.org/support/topic/28226?replies=6 has a link to the 3-column theme.

Actually, thats not what I’m looking for. I have seen that theme before. I want one column on the left, posts in the middle and a sidebar on the right

I’m actually doing a custom theme that works like that. The content in the middle is fluid and the two columns left and right are fixed width.

I haven’t searched the WP themes so I guess I can’t give you any links. If that’s the kind of layout you’re interested in and you’re willing to wait a bit I might be able to help you out with that.

Either that, or take the three column theme and modify it so it works like you want. This means you have to dig in a little and learn some CSS, PHP and XHTML, but it’s not as hard as it looks.
