    Hei,
we have a weird Problem on one of our WordPress Pages where we use the GTranslate plugin.
It seems like the plug in is adding h1 tags with the german text “original text” and the end of the html structure. Wich cant be a good thing for seo of our site.
Any idea where this comes from or how we can remove it ?

    Hi,

I can see that you are using our free plugin which doesn’t give you any SEO benefits.

The scripts for the translate widget are being loaded from a resource which tells search engines to not-index the content. So it doesn’t affect your SEO in any way and search engines do not know anything about the h1 tag added by Google Translate widget, since the script is not being loaded by them.

You can check the disallow list in https://translate.google.com/robots.txt

If you need SEO benefits you can consider using our paid version: https://gtranslate.io/#pricing

In that case the translations can be indexed and your page will be translated as it is without additional tags.

P.S. I have noticed that you are using a caching plugin which may give you issues, since the scripts loaded from translate.google.com are being cached and localized to be loaded from your server. I recommend you to update GTranslate to the latest version, go to GTranslate plugin settings page and click the Reset code to default under Widget Code section and save the changes. Then clear your website cache and it should be good.

    Thanks! 🙂
