Extra Backups

    I have been using UpdraftPlus for some time now and I find it very good. It seems to cope with shared hosting better than any other backup plug-in.
    One issue that I have discovered is that it seems to produce far more backups than I have scheduled. I have been scheduling one database backup per day and one file backup per week but on some days I get many. On 31/10 for example 18 backups were produced.

    Hi,

    When you say that 18 backups were produced, is this 18 backup sets (listed in the Existing Backups tab or from multiple report emails), or 18 backup files?

    UpdraftPlus splits each backup into several sections, each of which can contain multiple files if large enough.

    Each file in a backup set will have the same timestamp and random string of characters in the file name. The file name will also include the section of the backup, e.g:
    backup_2016-11-01-1223_WordPress_3cee5217d7cf-uploads3.zip

    If you believe that the backups are running multiple times a day, please could you send us a copy of the latest backup logs? These can be found in the Existing Backups tab.
