    What does this mean?

I have wp opcache installed and it appears to be working. That plugin shows 99.98% hit rate.

    Query Monitor Alert

    Object Cache
    96.3% hit rate (9,051 hits, 352 misses)
External object cache not in use

Thanks for the message. I’ll take a look.

    Same here

The cause of this message is because QM checks the return value of the wp_using_ext_object_cache() function, which usually only returns true if there’s a wp-content/object-cache.php file in place. With the Zend OPcache extension this file isn’t required, and this function returns false.

I’ll tweak QM a bit so it doesn’t show this message when the Zend OPcache extension is in use.

I’m using Breeze cache plugin and getting this same notice.

Just to add to this, I have the same error message. I’m with Bluehost on the Genesis framework using the Bluehost deault Endurance Cache, which is set to Normal (Level 2)

    Object Cache
    96.7% hit rate (2,934 hits, 101 misses)
External object cache not in use

Same thing i don’t understand what it wants.

I don’t see a ticket for this but the last line in the release notes for v3.0.1 looks related to this. Given the timing of this thread I’m guessing the change for this is not in QM yet? I’m getting the error too. PHP7.1 says OPCache is available but I’m trying to figure out if it’s been disabled at the shared host for my current site. It’s tough to identify the status of this. In the mean time my optimization plugin (Hummingbird) is giving me a very low performance score and I’ve been hoping QM would be able to help identify a bottleneck.

Thanks for your continued support of this plugin!!

If the Zend OPCache extension is installed, then AFAIK it “just works” and there’s no need for a corresponding cache controller in WordPress.

For now, anybody seeing this notice can just ignore it if Zend OPCache shows up under the list of installed extensions in the Environment panel. I’ll release an update at some point which doesn’t cause these warnings to appear unnecessarily.

Receiving the same warning, if you can release a fix it would be appreciated, it’s not a big deal but slightly annoying.

Hi @johnbillion our site has the extension installed and enabled, but still shows the message: External object cache not in use – The Zend OPcache extension for PHP is installed but is not in use by WordPress .

When will you be able to perform an update?

    Thanks for your Plugin

    Regards !

Feel free to ask for a refund.

This isn’t very high on my list of priorities. I hope you can ignore the message for now.

You don’t have to be sarcastic. I really love your plugin and has help me a lot in my site. Saw today the error and when I searched over the internet, found this link here. You said before three months that will fix it. Just a reminder….nothing else.

    Thank you again
