    Hi all,

For one of our customers we are looking at creating all links in their content to change into shorturls with bit.ly options. They want to get their personal short domainr to use the bitly options.

Is it possible with this plugin to convert these links in the posts automatic?

The plugin automatically generates the links for all allowed post types. Are you asking if you can change the internal permalinks and use short urls?

    Hi Mark,

Not really… We are looking for the following:

In a blog post there are 10 different URL’s. We want to make these url’s short because the mobile app shows the entire url and makes the readablity harder then just shortURL them.

I understand what you’re saying now. Currently no, WP Bitly does nothing to search your content and shorten these URLs on its own. You could probably extend it to do so with only a little coding (depending on how you wanted to cache the shortened URLs), but as for right now that’s not on the immediate road map.

There is a plugin which turns external urls to shortURLs automatically:

Unfortunately it doesn’t work for multisite, where it causes speed issues (page loads in 20 seconds instead of 5 seconds, for example).

If anyone has a new way to automatically change external urls to bitly urls, please let us know.
