would like to know how to set up: when a member pays but already has existing membership that the date of membership is extended by the time set eg 1 year from the date of expiry

    Hello @lcwduk,

If you have an existing member that has an expiration date when they renew, it should add the additional year to their account when they renew.
So if they Expire on Aug 21,2022, but they renew on Aug 17, 2022, the year will be added as Aug. 21, 2023 enddate.

The above scenario will only work for Manual renewals, recurring billing should do this automatically without the user hitting “renew”.

If you have other conditions to be considered, please provide more information.

    Thank you,

    Hello Bary,

Thank you for these images. These do not look like our plugin.

Can you confirm you are using Paid Memberships Pro?

    hi Kim
i have the membership card add on may be thats why it looks different?

    Paid Memberships Pro 2.9.2

i have added screenshots to that link above too – demo10.jpg and demo11.jpg
in demo 11 you can see 2 orders, one subscription, when updated the oder the date didnt change for expiry, another issue is when renewing, it goes in to hold in admin, but then the card is actually disabled until approved payment

i dont want memberships to expire until renewal date, but it seems not extendable if purchasing earlier

    regards

    Thank you,

After looking at your site, I can see on your site you have Ultimate (or Indeed) Membership Pro Main Frotend Style file active AND Paid Memberships Pro. I’m going to assume your theme came with one of these.

When I look at the PMPro checkout, this is what I found.
I have done a test checkout, and it looks like you have the level set up for Recurring Payments (subscriptions at the Gateway). If this is the case, the users will not have an expiration date as their membership will renew automatically. PMPro does not show a date for recurring billing.

I hope this helps you configure your site as needed.

    hi Kim
many thanks, yes there are both versions. indeed one i think has a better look and feel, i have tried bank transfer and stripe test payments, i have set as recurring and as one time, they still dont extend

    Membership Access
If you wish to have Recurring steps choose "Recurring Subscription" type. All others have OneTime step.

    Access Type
    Limited Time
    Only for:
    1 Years

    hi Kim
i am looking for one time payment for 1 year, then extra payments for each additional year added on
so eg a member can pay for one year
than add another year, then another year etc
    regards

    Barry,
The page you are looking at with “Membership Access” is not ours.

I can only speak to PMPro settings.
The first image I shared with you shows how a 1 years subscription should be set up. https://ibb.co/FhWhQPz

A day or two after they purchase the 1 year, a renewal link should appear on the member’s account page, if they check out again, it should add the additional year or 365 days.
Here is what it would like for an existing user to checkout for another year.
