# Exporting and Importing Posts

 * Hi,
 * I’m looking for advice on exporting and importing posts…
 * I bought a new domain name and I’ve tried moving the site files following the
   instructions at [http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress)?
   However, I’ve had issues with thumbnails not displaying properly.
 * Instead of moving the wordpress files, could I export my posts, delete that wordpress
   installation, reinstall a fresh version of wordpress using the new domain and
   import the posts? Would that work? Are there any major downsides to this?
 * The site I want to export from is running on WP 3.3, would it be okay to import
   to WP 3.3.1?
