 * So I created a new WooCommerce website and before making the switch from the
   old site I went to export my order information from the old site, only to discover
   this apparently isn’t a simple task?
 * It seems like there are only paid plugins all rated very average.
 * I dont understand how this isn’t some sort of easy process to export a ccv and
   import it into the new store?
    Woothemes has an exporter for $79…and then you
   have to buy an importer for $79. This is just nuts.
 * Are there any other solutions here?

 * It’s complex because Order IDs (post ids) will change after importing them into
   another install.
 * To keep order numbers the same, the WP database should be migrated instead.

 * Thanks Mike,
    So, let me ask you – I was able to export the orders from the old
   site as an excel doc. Is there any ability to import that information into WooCommerce
   via a plugin?

 * Yes, using ant of the ‘average’ options you’ve investigated 😉 But as I say,
   the order IDs might change post-import.
 * To keep IDs intact and if you’re just moving hosts for example, use [https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-migrate-db/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-migrate-db/)
   It’s the easiest option.

 * Thanks so much for the help. It looks like if I do this it will completely replace
   my current new database with the old sites database, is that correct? So not
   only would it add the orders but it would also include all content such as pages/
   posts etc. Is that right?

 * Yes thats correct. This avoids conflicts with Post IDs too, since orders, posts,
   pages, products, all share the same IDs.

 * Ahhhh so this is something I SHOULD have done at the beginning. Since I already
   have repopulated the new site with new content/pages/posts as well as WooCommerce
   products this is probably not an option anymore unless I want to overwrite everything.
 * Mmmmmmm so I guess then the only option is to do a paid plugin to export the
   orders from the old site and then a separate plugin to import them into the new
   site huh?

 * Thats one option. Are you moving hosts or just setting up a 2nd install?

 * New host. Moving from Dreamhost to GoDaddy.

 * Then you could instead look into exporting your ‘new’ content, moving the DB
   across, then importing your ‘new’ content and removing anything old you no longer
   need. Then you keep orders + IDs intact.

 * OK so just to make sure I understand.
    Export the old site database (which includes
   everyting including product orders) Import that into the new site (This will
   all all product orders back as well as pages/posts/ which will be a lot of duplicates
   I will then manually delete).
 * Is that about right?
    Dude, seriously thank you so much for the help!

 * Actually I was thinking
 * 1. Export from new site to backup your content
    2. Move the DB from old to new(
   this will replace any new content) 3. Import the new content
 * Then replace duplicates.

 * OK good thinking.
 * So then last question, what exactly would this plugin offer that is $200.
    [Product CSV Import Suite](https://www.woothemes.com/products/product-csv-import-suite/)
 * Would it basically just take care of all this without me having to worry about
   duplicating things on the database?

 * Thats for importing just products. It can do merges and new imports. I think
   in this case you can just use Tools > Export and Tools > Import, then remove
   duplicates. Down to you.
