Export to file fails: timeouts

I have tried to export to a file, but this always times out or our terrible DSL business line. I could try to FTP the archive file to storage using Filezilla, but I don’t see the All-In-One archive file on the server anywhere. Does this plugin create the export and then save it to the site’s server? If so, where does it put it?
