• I’m wondering if anyone is aware of a way to export articles from QuarkXPress to WordPress using any method (XML, txt, etc.).

Here’s my situation: I run a small-sized newspaper website for a medium-sized University (Millersville University ~8000 students). I started this semester without any previous webmaster for over a year, and I made an entirely new site using WordPress. The site is running WordPress 2.7 and uses a modified version on Justin Tadlock’s Options theme (along with a number of plug-ins).

How my work flow has been thus far is this:
The paper is finished using QuarkXPress by Wednesday morning. I spend nearly my entire Wednesday copying and pasting articles from Quark to WordPress, manually adding categories, tags, excerpts and the article author. Pictures take a bit more time, as I take the quality down a ton using ImageReady (through a built-in droplet) and then upload them, giving them a title and caption.

Now, it’s a pain in the neck to do this, especially alone. I was lucky enough to get another person to help me out for the end of the Fall semester, who will be with me for the Spring semester as well. However, I’d rather spend less time on this process if possible. (It currently takes about 4 hours to do.)

My question is this: Is there any way for me to export articles from Quark and, auto-magically, have a WordPress article created. I was thinking about this because Quark can export as XML and HTML (and plain-text), but I’m really not an expert with the program.

Thank you in advance for any help or direction with this.
