Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » Export private events as iCal subscription

    Hi,
we are using Events calendar to manage both private and public events. For public events, it is easy to subscribe using any ical supporting application. I am not able to export private events – I can see them if I login to wordpress and click export, but the URL is the same and the calendar application is not logged in to wordpress.

I also tried to add username and password in the calendar (so it would use HTTP basic auth over https), but I still see only public events. Is there a way to either create a special URL that would export private events or to use basic auth (without actually going through a wordpress login form, which a third party calendar app cannot do)?

  • Hey there @jooray!

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry about the wait, we’ve been experiencing a higher volume of inquiries than normal.

As far as your questions about authenticating users for private events — if you are marking your events private, users will not be able to see them unless they are logged into WordPress. Any solution outside of using the wp-login.php would get pretty tricky, and unfortunately plugin customization is not supported with our free support.

When you are logged in and viewing an event, can it be individually exported with the button at the bottom?

    Hey there,

Since this thread has been inactive for a while, I’m going to go ahead and mark it as resolved. Don’t hesitate to create a new thread any time you help again!

    Ed ✌
