 * I am in the process of moving a blog from wordpress.com to a self-hosted site
for a friend. We’re not ready to shut down the old blog yet.
 * I have imported the posts, comments etc.
 * New posts are being added to both blogs, but now the old blog has some comments
on it as there are still some subscribers over there. (Using feedblitz, and cannot
   transfer subscribers.)
 * Is there a way to export only the comments, or at the very least import just
the comments, or current posts so I can move the comments over?
 * I tried exporting and importing the full blog with the idea that it would not
duplicate posts that were already there.
 * It actually duplicated every post, and the duplicate posts from the import all
had no tags and no comments. It also imported some other weird things as posts
too. I had to go through and delete all the “tagless” posts manually. (Thank
   heavens there weren’t too many!)
 * It’s really only one post I’m needing to import with it’s comments. Then I can
transfer the comments from the duplicate post over, and delete the duplicate.
 * I hope I’m clear. 🙂

 * HA! I figured out to do it manually.
 * I opened the export file in notepad, deleted out all the posts and pages except
for the one post I wanted to keep, and it worked!
 * I just imported this edited file, and it created a duplicate post WITH the comments.
 * I added a Move Comments plugin to the self-hosted blog, moved the comments from
the duplicate post to the one I wanted to keep, and then deleted the duplicate
   post.
 * Anyway, just wanted to share how I did it, just in case for some freak reason
there’s someone else out there that wants to do what I just did. 😀
