• Just curious, when I do an xml export of my site how is it that the file is so small and my content is so large by comparison? Does is not backup the content itself (photos etc.)?

Nope! It backs up your posts, comments, pages, etc. That XML file only contains the references to your images and attachments. You still need to perform a separate file backup of your WordPress installation to preserve those images and other content.

    Hi slinky005,

XML in its nature will not backup images. If you are backing up your website, I would suggest copying all your files and folders and then making a copy of your database.

    I hope this helps!

in your site, Backup your FTP folder especially wp-content and upload to your site.
