# Export file won't import

 * I have been using this p;plugin for a while without too many issues.
 * I have created a backup of my database which has worked fine – but when I try
   to import the zip file I get an error message saying
    ‘Error Message : Failed
   connect to [http://www.ridgetek.co.uk:80](http://www.ridgetek.co.uk:80); No route
   to host’
 * I have discussed this with my hosting company and they suggest it may be connected
   to the fact they use Clustered servers and to seek your advice as to whether 
   there is a workaround for this.

 * you’ll have to download the backup file to your computer, FTP it into the wp 
   clone backup folder on the new host (wp-content/uploads/wp-clone), refresh the
   backup list so that you can see it in the backup list and then do the restore.

 * I have done this and it went to a blank screen where it hung. When I have gone
   back in to the restored website it redirects me to the original site and I can’t
   get in to the restore.

 * if you’re not on godaddy, click advanced settings and enter 1000 into max memory
   and execution time fields before you click restore (you’ll have to get into the
   site to do that, [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj-pUS_JWuU) will be 
   helpful if you’re not familiar with the process)
    you could also use [this](https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/)
   to update the URLs.

 * I can get into the site (I restored WordPress).
 * Then moved the file to the sub-domain as suggested and it seems to pick this 
   up.
 * However, the restore timed out with a Server timeout error after 60 seconds meaning
   the restore doesn’t complete and it reverts back to redirecting me to the old
   site.
 * I tried putting in the 1000 parameters against memory and execution time but 
   this does not appear to have made any difference.

 * it probably won’t work if that’s the case. you could do a database only backup
   and do a restore with that (it would reduce some processing time) but even that
   won’t work if there are a lot of database entries.
