Export BLOG to CD or cached page

  • friend_of_grommit

I’d like to know how to export my BLOG to a static HTML page. I know no one will be able to post anymore. I want to cache it for archival purposes, and be able to play it back on a PC not connected to the Internet, and with no PHP or MySQL connectivity.

I want to create a snapshot cache.

Furthermore, I want to be able to convert the CSS to plain HTML.

Anyone know how to accomplish this?

Following that and a couple of other pages there will enable you to copy your blog into your computer to create an exact replica.

Not sure about the CSS bit.

Any offline browser can do it for you, e.g.:
    Free Website Copier

Didn’t quite work. It still wants to maintain the CSS. 🙁

What exactly (in detail) are you trying to achieve ?

No kidding. Why do you want to remove the CSS? Keep in mind the look and feel will change dramatically, depending on how much CSS is used, if you do that.

I guess I can keep the CSS in. It’s just that the css references graphics on the site, so when I try to capture the site with IE or Firefox or even some of the offline browsers, it skips the graphics in the css file. I’ll have to download those manually.
