We exported yoast data from this section:
In WordPress, go to SEO>Tools>Import and Export
Click on the ‘Export Keyphrases’ tab
Select any additional columns of data you want to export
    Click the ‘Export Keyphrases’ button

So now we have an new website and wanna import this data.
But Yoast still have no option to import data?
The basic FAQ/guide does not have any details how to import start import for Keyphrases and taxonomies/category data. 🙁

So we need to pay one more extra plugin?

@tommy83 The Yoast SEO plugin is only capable of exporting the focus keyphrases and other data to a .csv file. It is not able to import SEO data from a .csv file though. The Yoast SEO plugin is only able to import SEO data from other SEO plugins.

There is currently an open feature request with our developers to add this to to the plugin though: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/6364

Whereas we are unable to provide an ETA as to when this feature will be added, you can follow the feature request to be updated on it’s progress.

I know that issue on github. Its from 3 Jan 2017 and nothing happend regarding to this. Its feeling like a bad joke, sorry. 🙁

Your solution is an paid software and sold so many times. But the most needed basics for an migration is still not 100% solved. 🙁

    1. So what customer can do that stuck in migration because Yoast breaks the whole process?
    2. Why you do not make transparent on your FAQ and export guide what is not possible with the current export options?
    3. Every time when a customer need to migrate an yoast project, they will lose all data of categories. This is no way for a professional solution.

Also in our project we stuck now with the total migration and we need to go back to old wordpress with the current yoast data. So migration is cancled based on yoast issue. 🙁

Thanks for your bringing this to our attention. We can see why everyone needs to have the import SEO data feature.

While the relevant feature isn’t currently available in the plugin, we can confirm that we are already aware of this and our team has a plan to add such a feature.

That said, you identified multiple queries that you want us to address and we’ll address them in order:

So what customer can do that stuck in migration because Yoast breaks the whole process?
In addition, we wanted to have the import feature a long time ago but it wasn’t so far due to a technical decision. We know that different websites may have different sets of SEO data and it would be hard to say what posts or pages are related to what imported SEO data.

That said if you are stuck on an issue caused by the Yoast SEO plugin, please elaborate more about that specific issue so that we can understand whether you’ll need to start everything from scratch again or not. In addition, you may want to take the full database backup instead of exporting and importing all the SEO data.

Why you do not make transparent on your FAQ and export guide what is not possible with the current export options?
We appreciate you for letting us know where we can improve. We have forwarded this feedback to our content team so they can improve the relevant guide here.

Every time when a customer need to migrate an yoast project, they will lose all data of categories. This is no way for a professional solution.
We are sure exactly why someone would lose all the data of categories when migrating to or from Yoast SEO. Can you please elaborate more on this so that we can understand the query better and offer the best possible solutions for you?

We look forward to hearing from you.

    – We wanna migrate to a new blog. So we do not need an full backup of the site. We just wanna migrate posts, pages and categories. But there is no chance to keep all data of yoast. Because your export did not include all data.

    1. You already have an export option. But this export will include all yoast data of categories?

    2. How to import them? you have an export option, but now import option. This is feeling like an bad joke. 🙁 We need to buy WP ALL IMPORT which cost more then 300€ to solve that?

Maybe its better to migrate to yoast alternative which is for free (they provide option to import yoast data out of the box). Its realy feeling like: We develope an great plugin, but did not take care for many years for export/import options.

But in fact: this are one of the most needed basics. 🙁
Please help us. Our project is listed on wikipedia and the complete project stucks now regarding to yoast.
