Support » Installing WordPress » Explicit Role Capability for Subscribers to Comment

  • Hi there,
I upgraded to 2.0.3. and am having problems with comments. I’ve mentioned my plight here:

I have yet to resolve this but am one step closer with the new roles plugin installed. Unfortunately, it appears subscribers by default cannot leave a comment and there is no explicit way to authorise them to post comments using the plugin.

The closest capability I could see is for “editing posts” which is somewhat overloaded but if that’s the way to do it then fair enough – true/false?

Regardless, the annoying thing is when you click on the “You have to be logged in…” url to try to make a post and it redirects back to page (with no textarea for posting).

I’m sure one of you guys/gals will know where the configuration has gone awry and a heads up would be most appreciated.

    All the best,
    Tom
