• When I heard WP3 was going to have custom content types, I jumped all over it. But I find myself a little disappointed. I installed Custom Post Type UI v0.5.2.

I was expecting to be able to create a custom form where I could specify fields for site authors to fill in. For example:

    Movie Content Type
    Fields:
    Name:
    Genre:
    Year:
    Director:

I realize you can use taxonomy to populate that data as tags but that’s very intuitive for users.

So I’m wondering, what is the value of custom content types? Can’t I just use a Page to accomplish the same thing?
