Support » Plugin: WP Job Openings » Expired Jobs Still showing in listings

    Hi,

    Thanks for a great plug-in, just that I am facing a few issues here.

    1. Even after setting the expiry date, the job openings are still in the open jobs listing. Is there any way that the Job Listing is updated as per the local timings (Australia), so that the job listing is updated and the expired jobs are NOT SHOWN.

    2. The Cover Letter field is pre-set to be MANDATORY, how can this field be made OPTIONAL?

    3. Although I am so far using the FREE version (for checking purposes), Can the form fields be set and modified as per the requirements of each job separately?

    Many thanks and I will look for your support.

    Best Regards,
    Malik

    Hi @asimawan13,

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    1. Please note that we use UTC for expiring the jobs as this will be universal. For example, some applicants may be outside a particular timezone, and for them, the added expiry date for a job won’t be the same. This can cause a conflict. So we use the UTC format. If you need the local time format for expiration, currently, there are no settings to manage it. Also, currently, it is not possible to manage via code. In the next version of WP Job Openings, it will be available as a setting.

      But, you can always expire a job manually. The force expiry option is only available within the Classic Editor ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/ ) only. Due to some limitations of the new WordPress editor(Block Editor/Gutenberg editor), this option is currently unavailable in Block Editor. If you are interested in the Classic Editor (old editor), you can use the Classic Editor plugin (the official plugin maintained by the WordPress team). Using the Classic Editor plugin, you can switch between both editors.

      If automatic expiration is not working, please make sure that the WP-Cron is not disabled. You can check this by going to the wp-config.php file and check if the below code is present in the file. If yes, please remove it if you do want the expiration functionality.

      define(‘DISABLE_WP_CRON’, true);

      For advanced troubleshooting, you can install WP Crontrol (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-crontrol/) plugin and check if there are any issues reported by the plugin (Tools > Cron Events). The event with the action hook ‘awsm_check_for_expired_jobs’ is responsible for the automatic expiration of jobs. So if there are any issues with this event, try re-running this event.

    2. This feature is available in the Pro pack of WP Job Openings.
    3. Sorry! Currently, it is not possible to customize the form for each job. You can use the generic form builder option available on each job opening. You can use a custom application form generated by external plugins

    Regards,
