I’ve been trying to use the expire link setting in Pretty Links Pro.

I create a new link to expire in 5 minutes as a test. And it doesn’t expire.

I set the expire date to at least 2 days before NOW (the current time) and it shows as expired in the links dashboard.

But if I set a link to expire “and hour ago” and save it, it still shows as active.

When setting the expiration time for a link, I even set one up by clicking the “NOW” button to set the expire time to NOW and saved the link, waiting a minute, and the link still work, doesn’t expire and redirect like I’m setting it to do.

    Very frustrated.

Any thoughts out there as to what I’m either doing wrong or what I can do to fix this?

    Thanks!

Make sure you’ve set the correct timezone offset when setting the expiration date/time.

    Hello,

So here’s what I set in Pretty Links. Right now it’s 3 pm EST in New York, setting the pretty link to expire at noon today, so already expired.

These are the time setting on my WordPress installation

But while it is currently in New York 11/20/17 at 3:07 pm, the link is not expired.

Very frustating, I’m trying to keep all the time zones the same, EST with UTC – 5:00

    Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks

I just did a test, and you might be onto a bug. In my test it was exactly 1 day behind. So if I wanted it to expire at midnight today – I would have to set it for midnight yesterday.

I’ll run this by Blair and hopefully we’ll get a fix out soon.

    Hey,

Thanks! I thought I was losing my mind, it was driving me crazy because it should have been so simple and I couldn’t get it to work.

I look forward to the fix.

    Regards,
    Steve

It will be in the next release. Contact us through the premium support form and I can get it to you sooner. In the meantime, setting it exactly 1 day early will work.
