Is there any way to remove EXIF data but keep orientation. When I upload an image from Iphone 11 it seems orientation of the photo is kept in EXIF and photo is incorectly oriented after it removes data. I don’t have same issue when upload image from android.

    Hi @bobkata,
That’s odd that the orientation isn’t being auto-corrected by EWWW IO. Normally, it auto-rotates the image, and then strips the rotation metadata–because the metadata is unreliable, and often stripped by WP itself.

At any rate, I’d be curious to see what is going on here. Could you send links to an example image or two? It would be great to have links to the original + what you’re getting from EWWW IO, so I can compare, and see if it does the same thing on my site.

I dont use IO. Im with free mode for now. I also remove originals after optimize. The actual picture is from one of my vendors. I use WCFM multivendor plugin and offload media to AWS. It is from iphone 11 and when it is uploaded its on wrong orientation if I disable remove EXIF everything is good.

In order to replicate this, I’m probably going to need those images. I tried to replicate it from images I just took on my iPhone 6 (iOS 15.3.1), but those worked perfectly.

First though, let’s get the debug information from the support tab of the EWWW IO settings. Please post it on pastebin.com and post the link here.
