Support » Plugin: iThemes Security (formerly Better WP Security) » Execution of wp-cron is forbidden

  • Hello, everyone!

I want to disable the execution of wp-cron on every page load and set a cron job on my server that runs it every 30 minutes.
The problem is that when iThemes Security is activated I get a 403 error (Forbidden) when the cron job is executed.
I tried deactivating each function of the plugin to detect which module is responsable for the error, but I couldn’t identify it. With everything disabled I still get the error.
    How can I solve this?

  • Same problem here. Need occasional cron jobs for backup triggers and mailings. With iThemes Security blocking repeat failed login attempts, Cron Jobs trigger lock outs.

Feel this needs to get fixed.

The HackRepair.com’s blacklist disables the wget user agent. You can disable the blacklist or copy it from hackrepair.com and add it manually after removing the list blocking wget, or you can use curl instead of wget, as it is not blocked.
