  • Hi llrajsll,

    Yes and no 🙂 There is, but there shouldn’t. Movies are actually a simple Custom Post Type created by the plugin, and you can not have CPT swithout slugs in the URIs. You can hack it through, but that’s not the behavior expected by WordPress. Odds are you’ll get weird things removing the ‘movies’ slug, because WordPress will possibly have trouble making the difference between movies and standard posts or pages.

    Ok thanks a lot for the reply. Quick question: Is it just me or the IMDb does not have all the metadata/details in it. Another noob question, Does it have any effect on SEO whether you use the default metabox or the IMDb metabox?
    I’m basically using this amazing plugin to lessen my work but I don’t want my SERP to suffer. Please guide.

    Edit: I noticed the Allocine doesn’t display the Cast pictures. Any way to eliminate that (the cast) from it?
    Raj Sandhu.

    If you’re referring to IMDb for the metadata downloading, well WPMovieLibrary does not use IMDb, it uses TMDb ( and, indeed, depending on the movie and language, some metadata may be missing.

    As for switching the Headbox style, I’m no expert but there’s probably an impact on SEO at some point as different Headboxes styles don’t have the exact same content… SEO is not the biggest priority of the plugin, more focused on content than referencing.

    And for the Allociné Headbox not displaying cast images, you can add this code to your theme’s functions.php file:

    function remove_allocine_headbox_casting_tab( $tabs ) {
        unset( $tabs['casting'] );
        return $tabs;
    add_filter( 'wpmoly_filter_allocine_headbox_tabs', 'remove_allocine_headbox_casting_tab' );

    To remove the Casting block from the default tab, add this edited file to your theme’s folder with the following path: wp-content/themes/your-theme/wpmovielibrary/movies/headbox-allocine/tabs/overview.php.
