Support » Plugin: Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode » Exclude Search Engines?

    Hello,

I have a question about the “Exclude Search Engines” option in the “Minimal Coming Soon & Maint. Mode” plugin.

The heading is “Exclude Search Engines” so I imaging when the ‘switch’ is in the ‘on’ position, search engines are blocked.

However, the wording beneath says “This will enable search engines to view your regular website and not the Maintenance Mode page” which makes me think inversely; if enabled, the search engine WILL be able to see the page.

Can you please clarify which position the ‘switch’ must be is to allow search engines to view the regular web site, even when in maintenance mode?

    THANK YOU!

    Hi,

    Confusing, yes 🙁
Let me double-check in the code what’s going on I’ll get back to you ASAP.

    Thank you

When maintenance mode is on visitors, see the maintenance page, except for logged in users (if it’s set so by the option). So, assuming MM is on and “Exclude Search Engines?” is off search engines will see the MM page. If “Exclude Search Engines?” is on search engines will see the normal site.

I’ll make sure this gets properly labelled in the next release. Apologies for the confusion!

Fixed locally. The new version will be up in 1-2 days.
