It actually shouldn’t be showing up anywhere that your theme is using the_excerpt()
, which it looks like it’s using given the read more links.
I know in your case, doing something like hiding the output if is_home()
or is_archive()
would probably work, and I’m realizing that the output function isn’t filterable to allow that. I’ll add a filter that lets you add additional conditionals, like those above, to allow more fine-tuned control of where it shows up. (I’ll post more info back here once that’s done. I’m also thinking about maybe making this an option, since it seems like a good idea, although I try to minimize options as much as possible.)
The way the excluded ids work wouldn’t fit this use case — that looks at each individual post and hides it on any view of that post/page (single or archive).
Thanks for the report back and I look forward to the update!
Really do like the plugin (besides showing up on that 1 page) – looks nice and easy to deal with!
Thanks again – can’t wait to clean up that page ^^
I decided to add a checkbox option to the plugin, which allows you to hide the plugin from all archive-type pages, displaying only on single post pages, because this is a fairly common use-case. See https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/863414/quickshare. You can update to the development version if you want the changes now, otherwise I anticipate releasing the next version, with this feature, once a few translations have been created over the next couple of months.
OK great!
Thanks a lot for the fix. Definitely helps the look of those pages come out better. Development version you linked works just fine on my end.
Thanks again – dig the plugin!
