I use Google AdSense on my site, which is providing Cookies. Can anyone show me an example how to block AdSense with GDPR Cookie Compliance until the user clicks on the “Accept” button.

    Thank you very much!

    Hi @dani1989

You can try removing the adsense script from your theme files and add it to the plugin settings where it says ‘Past your scripts below…’, example:

Thank you for your quick feedback!

What should I enter for ‘UA-XXXXXXXXX-Y’? Is my AdSense publisher id to be entered there? I just tried that, but unfortunately it didn’t work.

What I forgot to mention so far is that I use the plugin “Advanced Ads” to display the ads.

I found this in their documentation:

It describes how I can stop Advanced Ads from displaying the ads, based on a consent plugin. It looks like it is also compatible with GDPR Cookie Compliance. However, unfortunately, the article does not describe how to enable cookies on the part of GDPR Cookie Compliance.

It seems to work automatically. I found out that I had another plugin enabled that placed the ads. The blocking and only displaying when the user’s permission has come seems to work now. The only question left now is how the reject button works.

Currently it looks like the cookies for AdSense are taken over anyway, even if I click “decline” as well. If I do that, the ads still appear the next time I reload. Do I have to enter any code when rejecting?
