[Resolved] excerpts not displaying properly : simplepress theme

  • I am using the theme simplepress.

On the front page there is a slide show that is populated by pages (I only have 1 so far). There is a bit of text in the slideshow, which is populated by the page excerpt. This part is working properly.

Under the slideshow there are three blocks of text. It looks like the theme is calling them “blurbs”. These seem to be displaying all of the text on the page, and not the excerpt. How do I display the excerpt here?

    Thank you in advance!

SimplePress is a commmercial theme from ElegantThemes that includes support in the purchase price, so you should seek support here: https://www.elegantthemes.com/forum/

ok, thanks. It appeared to me that you only had to purchase it for advanced features, because I was able to download for free. I will look into this though and see if they can help me.

    Thanks – resolved.

I was able to get the solution in the Elegant Themes documentation. Quick fix…there is a “more” tag to add on the page itself to mark where the blurb should end.

Thanks again for the help and providing that link.
