• Without messing with the functions.php, is there a way I can use the ‘more’ feature and still have “…” show up after the last word of the excerpt?

  • Depends on the theme you are using. By default the more feature generates […].
So unless the theme has over written this, the … should be there.

Care to provide a bit more info and a link to your site?

The only place I tried the more feature is on the blog post that appears on the bottom left (the one that stops in the middle of the sentence!).

That’s very strange… I don’t think that your theme is using the more function, but instead is creating excerpts. Normally excerpts are created by using the first few sentences of the post though, so I’m confused as what this content is.

Are you inserting content anywhere else when you are writing the posts, like maybe the excerpts box?

Hi – I inserted the “more” command into the main post text and didn’t use an excerpt.

But now I’ve edited the post, deleted the “more” and added an excerpt (an original introduction to the content that’s not literally an excerpt).

Nevertheless, I would like to be able to use the “More” command and have the “…” appear.

On the other post I added an html link to the excerpt to work around the problem.
